Great job, I see some really nice improvements …
Questions:
Is there a way that one could charge different fees for different categories?
And how difficult would it be to change the theme, for instance if I want the navigation to be on the left site instead on the top?
Will you offer an upgrade fee? Meaning is there an option to start with a single license and later upgrade to developer pack by paying the difference?
Do you foresee any problems with the script once we reach WP 2.7 in mid November (They change the admin areas and some other stuff in the code)?

Reporting two more bugs/problems:
(a) The uploaded image does not shows up above the image uploading box; it is visible in the post, however. Get Java script error while uploading.
(b) Character counter in Product Description box is not working.

The theme has the general features that would fit most peoples needs.
If you or someone else has different features that want in their themes than I can make the modifications for a fee.
If you want to upgrade later on you just need to pay the difference between the two prices.

My header http://www.jackass.biz looks OK in IE7 but comes out broken in FF3. Can't seem to get it fixed.
On the other hand, I see ClassiPress demo http://wpglamour.com/tcp/ header broken in IE7 but looks OK in FF3.
The culprit seems to be misplaced/misaligned Post Now button in the header. Anyone else having same problem?

Hi Gaby, congrats on the theme. I'll be purchasing one in the next few days. Just a few comments and questions.
1. I think users should have the ability to edit their ads. If after a week of posting a user, for example, wants to lower down the price, he should be able to do so. I understand if you don't want non-members to edit their ads but I highly suggest that registered members be given the ability.
2. Also once an ad has expired, there should be an option for the user to renew his ad. That means, the ad is not deleted but simply "archived" but still published online and if the user wants to "un-archive" it, he can simply press a button that says "Re-publish Ad" or something like that.
3. I hope there's a way to highlight a particular ad. Say, a different background color when it appears in the Search results or colored borders for the ad. That way, I can charge a premium to people who want their ads to be highlighted.
That's it for now. Hope you can implement my suggestions soon.

Hi, I see so many gripes and complaints here, I just purchased Ver 2.0 and I think its great, OK it has a few teathing problems that I am sure will get fixed, its my first time using WordPress and I installed this theme in approx 10 minutes,Website was up and running in less than 30 minutes, I think a great job has been done and its a refreshing way to Wordpress, Well done! great job, please keep me up to date with any future updates or bug fixes, I do think letting user edit there listing is a good idea,I can see my Admin box getting pretty full of the same old question " How do I update my Ad" also I am having the same problem with image uploads, images are being uploaded but you get an error on the ad's submission page, I uploaded the same image several times without relising it was already uploaded, when I checked in admin I see several of the same logo, I can see this being a problem for users. How do I get rid of the Wordpress Logo on the registration page, I would like to replace with my own Logo.

Hello Gaby, I'm trying to replace the category icons with thumbnails in the main index. Just like the thumbnails in the single post ads but I would only need a single image for the thumbnail. Any code you can suggest will be appreciated.

The comments section can be activated by first copying the comments.php of the default wordpress theme and put it on the classipress folder.

You can remove the horizontal bar by simply deleting it in the image folder of classipress or you can remove it through the stylesheet.ccs.

I have come across a useful plugin for this theme, that will redirect users logging in back to the home page or which ever page you want. http://www.theblog.ca/wplogin-redirect. I've tried it and seems to work well, and is better than sending people to the wordpress admin pages

Anyone know how to remove the "Post Now" button and associated info, I still want to keep the option for Paid Listings.
I know if I de-select the Paypal option it will remove this button but I dont want to de-active this option, I tried to delete the associated code from the header file but Website stopped working.

i've found a very big prob with categories.
I would like to Ctreate a category let say "real estate"
Then 2 sub-categories Buy and Sell.
Now, the main 2 problems are:
1. I can't create Sub-category Like :
RealEstate->Buy->Apartments if already created the same under Sell sub-category like
RealEstate->Sell->Apartments , WP says it's already exists.
2. When i create sub-categories like :
RealEstate->Buy->Apartments - customer should be able to see the sub-categories organized under main category in drop-menu while submitting an Ad
And i don't want the customer to post under Main categories,
but under sub-categories only. So, i need them to post
under Buy->Apartments or Sell->Apartments , but not under realestate which is useless in that case.
Is it possible to fix ? Otherwise there is no usage for sub-categories at all, cause now a days only well categorized classifieds may bring an attention.

Have you managed to fix the image upload issue, when I go to upload an image for a listing no image thumbnail is displayed above file upload box, although the image does get uploaded.
Also:
I am trying to place a small icon at the Header, it is a "Home" button, It works but I get a Blue box around the button, how can I stop this happening, it only happens if the image is a link which is what I want.

I would also like to fix that question for the users insert the ad on the subcategory and not in the main category.
It's a pity we couldn't create the categories like "cars" and "motos" and then 2 sub-categories for each one for "buy" and "sell", and not "motos-buy", "motos-sell"…

- when you upload an image there is no thumbnail to show up. the sript is not set that way. I removed that because firefox users could see a thumbnail and IE users couldn. so I wanted to make it equal to all.

You don't need to pay me anything. The feature will be integrated in ClassiPress at some point when I will find a good solution.
If you want it faster than that then that is a different story. But once I make it for you I will have to also release it in ClassiPress so its kind of with two sharp edges.

What a great theme! Is it possible to integrate an affiliate program? I use the jrox.com affiliate manager. My affiliate system is installed on another domain so integration will take a little tweaking for sure (Jrox calls it affiliate tracking on a remote domain and they have instructions for it). That's a little tricky for me so thought I would ask instead of trying to figure out how simple or difficult it might be. 2 links to instructions, hopefully it will come through, are

Hi Gaby, I really liked your theme, just have two problems:
1- I need to change the currency to "real", the brazilian money. Is it easy? Could you please teach me how to?
2- As for other paying methods, I understand you want to work only with Paypal, but my client insists to have purchase invoice as an option as well (I don't know if "purchase invoice" is the right word to receiving a paper after your purchase that you must pay at the bank). Can you recommend any plugins that can do this? Or do you have any other suggestions?

I was thinking about switching from Joomla to Wordpress for a good, simple classifieds system and stumbled across your site. The thing is that I would like to exclude one category from the main index.
If I use this code:
it works fine, but I want to the ads of that category to be shown when I click on the top separator of that category.
That code excludes all the entries from the "last entries" and also from the category where it's posted.

- on the home page I added the ability to show the first uploaded image from a post instead of the category icon of an ad(you can see it live in the preview instalation)

Adsense is something that you can easily ad in the theme by your own. Its better that each one chooses its own spot to place the ads and not places that I predefine

The problem is that your changelog files says only these 4 files were changed:
- functions.php
- header.php
- index.php
- style.css
But it is found other files too have changed. When other files too were updated, it stands fixed.

I have sent a screen shot. When an image is uploaded, IE V7 browser shows a broken image placeholder kind of thing above the file name. In FF only the file name is shown and everything appears normal - the broken image placeholder is not shown. Others too have reported this problem.

I noticed you said Version 2.0.4 was out; does that mean if we bought version 2.0.3 we should have received the updated version through email? If so I did not. :(

FYI - I just clicked the original email from my purchase of Version 2.0.3 and see that it now is 2.0.4 so that problem is fine now.
However, I am still trying to figure out how to make automatic hyper-links when someone posts a website in their classified description.
I have tried both the following wordpress plugins with no luck:
Auto-hyperlink URLs Plugin
-and-
Autolink URI Plugin
The HTML coding helps me, but really just looking for the automatic hyper-linking.

I got little error when I want to post a second ads.
When I have post one classified ad and go to homepage, the link on 'post a classified' will be = http://www.website.my/?ok=ok#
and when I click that button nothing happen.
Can this be fixed?

That page is in the admin panel.
The theme does not change in any way how the widget page reacts.
It should work fine.
Try clearing cache and trying again.

In the demo installation you can test upload feature.

love what I see so far and worth the 49 price tag for all the work you put into it
before I by I would like to know about when you register the link goes to the wordpress page to register and all that jazz . question is have you thought about including this into your package , so that a user doesnt feel like they are going out of your site and into something else . also has the sub cat been worked out so that you can have real estate for sale and real estate for rent , apartments etc.
and last question this is the scratch your head question ? what about http://www.jobamatic.com ? and using this in some way ??

another sug. would be to have support for google maps so that the customer if they wanted to have a map to the area like for a car ad or a house ad or what ever they can then click on map to this location and placed on the side would be a map view with the driving directions or some sort of blend.
also why is it that when you click on an ad all the other tabs go away if I as a customer wanted to view anything else I would have to go back to the home page to go to any other page ?
also I did not register on the test site but question would be does the user get all the fun stuff like custom image for the user name and what about if the user doesnt want to register can they still just go and post or is it one way or the other but not both

you know, registering on the demo would totally be the easiest way to get those questions answered. agreed, google maps would be a nice feature though, but possibly a bit too much. i like the simplicity of it right now.
No custom image for username as far as I'm aware. Isnt this just for commenting on posts anyway? Because a classified ad doesnt really have comments, you know.
Also, to go ahead and answer your question about registration - yes it required to post an ad; No, it is not required to reply to an ad.

Just test the demo and find it yourself. With regards to google maps it can be easily implemented with simple copy and paste from google maps site. Also I have already implemented the comment system in my classipress site by simply copying the default theme comments php.

I will answer your questions one at a time.
I know some people don't like their users to see that the site is powered by wordpress. From my opinion you should be proud that you use it. I will not modify everything in such a way that you will never get in the admin panel and never see what powers the site. I respect the people at WordPress and that is why I will not hide the registration process or anything like that. Sorry.
The subcategory is still 1 level down. I think it can be done to include 2 or 3 levels but this will be done on a case by case basis because not everyone need more subcategories.
ClassiPress is for classifieds not jobs. If you want to use it for a jobs site then it would be incomplete.
GoogleMaps will not be integrated because, like James Bruce said, it would be too much. I don't want to make the theme complicated to use. I like simple, smart and easy.
About the tabs disappearing. Yes, I think that would be a good idea. I will keep that in mind and integrate it in the next version.
About the custom images for users. The theme doesn't try to create a community around it. It just tries to make a classifieds website. There is no use for user images like there is no use for comments because if anyone is interested in the ad then he will contact the seller from the contact form.
The posting of an ad requires registration only if the site admin wants that. In the admin panel you can select if users have to register or not. So its the admins choice.

1. all updates are free
2. See here: http://wpglamour.com/tcp/ there is a button in the top right part of the site
3. you can but you need to make some modifications to the theme and make special categories for that
4. yes you can. from the admin panel.
5. the theme should work the same for wp 2.7, if not I will make an update and everything will work just fine
6. no, there isn't. you either charge for all ads or for none
7. I only implemented paypal because its an online payment, I will not implement other payment systems. if anyone wants other payment systems I can do them for a fee.
8. I don't have a time planed. as long as people provide feedback and as long as the features recommended are good.
9. nope. I'm not planing a promotion. The theme was 40$ until a few days ago from $79 and that was the promotion. And now its just $49 so that is a promotion itself :)

ad. 3 I think if G would add the possibility for 3 subcategories more people would decide to buy it.
I would like to support @Frank - google maps integration should be an option for people who needs it.
It can be switched off as default or for some categories but I admit it should be there.
Well if those two options are on - I would decide to pay for developers issue.
I hope @GlamourGaby help us in it ;)

Like I said, the 2 subcategory thing its easy to implement and I will see if it can be integrated without messing the content for those who only want 1 subategory.
But I don't think google maps will ever be in the theme. But who knows maybe in some future version when I won't have anything else to add.

I'm very interested in this theme and will likely buy it once my site is ready to move into the classifieds area.
One question I have for those using it, do you post up some terms that say you are not responsible if sellers take money and do not supply the product? I guess you are not processing the order yourself so you don't have any responsibility for the outcome?

How difficult would it be to add a Renew button so that before or after an ad expires it can simply be renewed without inputting the data all over again?
Secondly, it is getting quite common for the user to log into their account and refresh an ad after a set number of days, thus making the ad look newly posted but the time left to expiry remains the same. This feature is quite the bonus for the user as they participate more frequently with the site by pushing the ad to the front page.
Great theme by the way and great attitude too.

Once an ad expires it is either deleted or gets put as a draft depending on what you chose.
Once its a draft it can't be viewed in the blog anymore so users can't see it to renew it.

If you see the ClassiPress theme in the theme list and can activate the theme then you will also see the tab with the ClassiPress options.

Great WP classifieds plugin/theme. One suggestion… You should consider adding a forum categorized by topic instead of continuing to let people post comments here. Might be easier on the eyes and to find the things people need, i.e. design issues, installation, modifications, etc. ;-)
