Do you have taxi rules?
I usually am in a hurry so the fastest way to get from A to B is with a cab.
I have seen so many taxis and taxi drivers that I created my own rules.
Rule 1: Never enter a car that looks like it's older than you are.
If you don't like bumpy rides than follow this rule at all times. If I'm in a real hurry than I will just take the first cab that gets in my way. Sometimes I have the "luck" to ride in cabs with witch I feel every dent in the road and the car look like its going to break at the next light stop.
Rule 2: Never enter a car that is too new
Maybe it sounds strange. This is not necessarily a rule that you should always follow. Some drivers like to keep their car shiny new and they will drive as careful as they can and as SLOW as they can. Sometimes you will arrive faster to point B and sometimes it will take ages for the taxi driver to get you there.
The only good thing about this is that you will always have a smooth ride. The car suspensions are new so you will have a very nice ride. So if you're not in a hurry definitely always pick a new car.
Rule 3: Never pick a taxi with an old driver
I have nothing against old people. Not all of them anyway.
If you get in a cab with an old driver, your changes of him driving as slow as my grandmother on a tricycle have just increased exponentially.
So what rule have I broke today? The third rule. The most sacred rule of all. Man, this guy was driving like he had a 10km/h limit on all streets or something. At one point I wanted to get out of the car to get some air and I was sure I will catch up with him if I do that.
I saw a 80 year old women on the sidewalk. She could of given me a piggyback ride faster than this guy.

I got in a taxi once when I left a restaurant. And it was the only taxi around. So the cab driver asked me if I was the one that called the taxi. So of course I said "yes". I wasn't going to wait another 15 minutes for another taxi to get there.

Yeah, the entire tax-cab thing is a crazy busy. They don't care too much about overall customer service, seeing as the chances you'll ever get the same driver twice are slim to none. Sure, they want a nice tip… but from what I've heard, most of their money is made on the actual fare rather than gratuity.

I walk in confident and say where I want to go like I know where it is. I also don't look out the window with my mouth open and say "whoaaaaa".

Well I believe in third rule, that's exactly correct. In my country there are four kinds of taxi. Those that you charter them so these rules are applicable. Those that you phone them so neither of these rules work. Those that driving their own way and if your way matches their way so you can get in, they are usually very slow because they can pick more than one passenger at the same time. And the fourth category. This kind of taxi are expected to take passengers from specific location A to specific location B and these path are specified by their department but the special thing is that they don't know any driving rule and they are really pro in the driving :D they can take you as fast as possible even in rush hours and you probably be wondered. They know every streets and ally and they do any trick to get to location B faster :D but during the journey you you can't close your eye for a moment :)

ok, so I have some problems with old taxi guys .. a week ago one of th old guys asked my gf about her phone number and things like that .. I was after him .. and I wait the next one ..
